CAPTAIN’S MESSAGE
The success of last year’s Outside Lands was evidenced by a reduction in overall calls for service during the event, in fact we received 94 fewer noise complaints than we have in previous years. 60,000 plus persons attended Outside Lands each day and we received many compliments from neighbors regarding the improvements made to last year’s concert. I must give credit where credit is due. The staff at Richmond Station work tirelessly to police the event and it would not be possible without the dedication and devotion of all members involved. We would like to thank PAR and the many neighbors and business’s that step up and work together to accomplish this event. Based on this we are looking forward to another successful event this year.

  1. I’m not really sure if the arrests listed here are exactly “noteworthy” given the types of incidents listed beneath them. This kind of crime in the neighborhood is getting absurd.

  2. goes to show that they’re not making very good arrests these days.

  3. The writing in this current police blotter is different from the usual. I hope they keep the usual writer, they’re more descriptive of the incident that takes place.

  4. I understand that the officer that normally does the newsletter is on vacation.

  5. Why do we have an Acting Police Captain?

There was no blotter last week which leaves me with the impressing there’s some shuffling coming.

  6. bravo!

Send these guys down to the Presidio to PLANET GRANITE and ticket the dude that climbs there and CLIMBS HARD routes and yet has a shiny porsche that he parks in the disabled zones with a placard . . . ??????

Laughable, as usual. I no longer have any sympathy for people on cell phones . . . DUHHHHHH!!!!

  8. The captain is on vacation, so there is someone taking her place. I called the station rather than making assumptions.

  9. Community policing should build upon the existing relationships between the station and the community. Bragging about nickel and dime traffic violations while CITIZENS ARE GETTING ROBBED AT GUNPOINT is idiotic. How about, “We at Richmond Station are tracking crimes being committed by XYZ, and are working towards ensuring in securing the safety, property, and livelihoods of our community members?”

  10. hasn’t that first republic bank been robbed like 3 times in the past year?

  11. Do they confiscate the handicap placard & make the person who it is issued to retrieve it from the police station? If not, why not? Both the person it’s issued to, and the idiot who was using it should realize, thru time, effort & money, the value & purpose of the placards. I’m guessing the SFPD could spend all day just waiting to people who use them to return to their cars & check & make a lot of money on fines!

  12. Hooray for Officer Schor issuing a ticket to an individual who was using a handicap placard fraudulently.

  13. @fiddles – You should call the station to find that out: 666-8000

  14. we had a community meeting last year in the Community Room — after begging for one for 3 years. The Capt. and his Lt. stood and praised APE for 20 minutes — and no residents were allowed to speak. Then APE praised the SFPD for 20 minutes — and no one was allowed to speak. When people grew restive and started to raise their hands, the Capt. leaned forward, pointed, and barked quite threateningly that no one was to speak. After about 40 minutes, people realized that this was all just a game, and some left. One very intelligent, calm, well-spoken woman was allowed to speak. she sounded like she knows the workings of the City of SF pretty well. She requested an accounting of the revenues for Outside Lands — but she hardly got to the 3rd sentence because David Heller (who had walked in about 5 minutes before — not quietly, like someone sorry to be disturbing a meeting, but loudly and walked briskly across the room to the far side instead of standing near the door. Though other people had been cautioned not to speak, for some reason, no reprimand was given when David Heller stood up (!), started pointing his finger at the women and yelling angrily (yes, yelling) “What do you want that information for?! You have no right to that information! What are you going to do with that information?!” As I said — no reprimand at all. And Mr. Heller, who is so involved with City and Richmond district politics, certainly must know that any citizen has every right in the world to request financial information regarding public property and public agencies. And it is absolutely no business whatsoever of his what that person might want it for. It was very strange to have someone who runs a beauty supply shop exhibit such angry, hostile and bizarre behavior and not have him asked to leave.

  15. oops! I’ve posted this on the wrong page. Meant to be in response to the person on the page re HSBG saying we need a “community meeting.” Apologies.
