I saw a similar dolphin off of Baker Beach on Sunday. I think they may be feeding on the herring that are currently very active in the San Francisco Bay.
I believe these are harbor porpoises. Saw two of them playing near Pt Bonita on Sunday.
That is a bottlenose dolphin. Harbor porpoise are smaller ceteceans and lack the distinctive curved dorsal fin. Both species have returned to local waters in the last 10 – 12 years. They can be seen fairly regularly along local shorelines though the larger bottlenose are easier to spot and photograph.

Thanks for the correction, Paul.
