  1. So they are definitely much further inland than lands end. Monday morning at 1:30 am I was stopped at Clement and Park Presidio at a light, and I saw one cross the street from the east side to the west side. It was definitely a coyote. It actually stopped in the center median for a moment, looked both ways, and crossed. There were no other cars around. It actually went into that area of trees right across the street from the Jewish center. I drove by slowly and tried to get a photo but no luck.

    Keep your cats indoors, folks, or they will end up as Wile E. Coyote’s dinner.

  2. Yes, I’ve seen coyotes in that area for several years. This is pup season, so good to be cautious and admire from them from afar.

  3. @J Pretty impressive! Even more so as you noted that it stopped to look both ways before crossing the street.

    Which is much more than some humans do ;^}

  4. Have twice encountered 1 or more coyotes (at a distance) while walking up the paved trail from the Lincoln Park Clubhouse area to the Legion of Honor – both times near dusk. They’re fascinating to watch from a distance.

  5. I was on my way to work through the GG Park rose garden (at Park Presidio) about two weeks ago when a coyote crossed the garden in front of me and then proceeded down into the redwood grove. I’ve seen many at Land’s End.

  6. Terrific. This will finally prompt people to put their dogs on a leash. Nature succeeds where the law fails

  7. Actually it’ll probably result in uninformed people calling the city to complain about dogs running around unleashed, which will inspire Mar to introduce legislation to beef up fines for dog owners…

  8. I stopped a coyote from attacking my kids near the Sutro Baths parking lot last week in broad daylight. after I stopped it, I started filming it, and it tried to come back after my kdis again (sorry for the cursing on the video). I tried to call various SF authorities and none of them care. SF is waiting for someone’s kid to be injured or worse before they do anything about this. San Francisco is one of the most densely populated urban environment in the USA and there is no place here for apex predators to roam free. A simple search of this website reveals increasing, and bolder spottings of coyotes even on our streets. Something must be done and soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PJ2THCR_kc
