Police Blotter – November 28, 2014

NOTEWORTHY ARRESTS & INCIDENTS
(Regarding some of the incidents in the weekly newsletter. We are not always able to give a full or complete account of what has occurred. We do not want to furnish information about ongoing investigations which may be prejudicial or interfere. We do our best to give a general overview of incidents within the district.)

On 11/22/2014, at 5:30 PM, Officers Finigan and Lai responded to the Wells Fargo Bank in Laurel Village regarding a robbery in progress. On arrival at the scene the officers were told that the suspect had fled in an unknown direction, multiple of the Richmond units searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect walked up to a bank teller and handed over a note demanding cash, the teller handed the suspect all of the money from inside the drawer. There were no injuries during this incident and the investigation continues…

On 11/22/2014, 2014 at 10:15 PM, Officer Lok was on patrol in the area of Geary and Palm Street when he observed a vehicle with a non-working rear light. The officer initiated a traffic stop and contacted to driver regarding the violation. The driver was unable to produce a driver’s license upon request and a computer check revealed that he had never been issued one. The driver was cited for multiple violations including driving with no license issued.

On 11/23/2014, at 1:58 AM, Officers Faynshteyn and Campbell responded to the Kaiser Hospital on Geary regarding an aggravated assault. The officers contacted the victim in this incident who was being treated for injuries to his face. The victim who is an “Uber” Driver picked up two males and a female in downtown area of San Francisco. They drove to the area of Polk and Sutter where a male and female exited the vehicle after paying their portion of the fare. The male requested that the remaining passenger be driven to the area of 18th and Clement in the Richmond district. While driving to the location the remaining passenger suddenly moved from the rear seat to the front seat and attacked the driver. The driver attempted to exit his vehicle but found he was restrained by the seatbelt which he was unable to open. After assaulting the driver the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. While interviewing the driver officer Faynshteyn realized the suspect in this incident fit the description of a person being detained by other officers at 18th and Clement regarding a separate incident. The victim in this incident sustained a broken nose and other facial injuries. Suspect was booked into County jail for aggravated assault charges.

On 11/24/2014, at 1:17 AM, Officers Yee and Rotschi responded to the area of third and Geary regarding a report of a battery at the location. Upon arrival at the scene the officers contacted San Francisco fire Department medics who were attempting to render aid to a male who was bleeding from the nose and had other the minor injuries. The male’s two intoxicated friends were also interfering with the medics and had to be moved back so the fire department could attempt to render aid. It should be noted that the male in this incident was extremely belligerent with the medics and refused to cooperate. Due to two of the subjects being highly intoxicated and unable to care for themselves, they were booked at the county jail for being drunk in public. Both individuals assaulted the transporting officers and attempted to damage department property while on their way to jail.

On 11/24/2014, at 7:27 PM, Officers Stevens and Flannery were conducting a vehicle burglary abatement patrol inside Golden Gate Park. When approaching Nancy Pelosi drive at the Academy of science they observed a male looking into parked vehicles in the area. The officers contacted the male and initiated a computer query on his information. The officers discovered that the male had four outstanding warrants for his arrest. The male was booked into County jail without further incident.
