Weekly Update 02-18-2016
Here are some of the incidents that occurred in the Richmond Police District this week:
VANDALISM TO PROPERTY

JFK & STOW LAKE
Officers responded to the Stow Lake Log Cabin to take a vandalism report. The tops of two small trees were sawed off about a foot and a half above the ground. A third tree had a limb sawed off.
There were no witnesses to this incident and no video footage. Unknown suspect description at this time.
MISSING ADULT

PARK PRESIDIO & CALIFORNIA ST
While Sonoma County Behavioral Health employee was transporting a subject to a mental health facility, the transport vehicle stopped at a red light. Once stopped, the subject opened the back door and jumped out. The subject was last seen fleeing on foot northbound on Park Presidio. Several Officers searched the area to no avail. Since the subject was a risk to himself and others there was a continuous search put into place. The subject was later located on 02/12/16 at 200 Folsom St., on an unrelated call. Officers recognized him from a missing person’s flyer that was released the day prior.
ROBBERY WITH GUN

GEARY & 31ST AVE
The victim was walking westbound on Geary Blvd from 30th Ave. when two male suspects approached him asking for money. The victim told the suspects he didn’t have any money, at which time one suspect pulled a small black gun out of his pocket and pointed it at him. In fear for his life the victim handed one suspect his wallet. The victim then attempted to call 911 when the other suspect slapped the phone out of his hand. The victim ran westbound towards 32nd Ave so they were unable to see what direction the suspects fled. Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the suspect. Both suspects are outstanding and are described as the following: two black male adults, both between 25-30 years old and both in dark clothing.
ARREST: ROBBERY WITH FORCE/WARRANT ARREST

212 CLEMENT ST
A victim was sitting in the information booth at the Clement St. Farmers Market, when they were approached by an Asian male. The suspect told the victim, “I will take all your cash!” The suspect then lifted his jacket exposing what appeared to be a weapon, but then fled the scene without any money. The suspect was described as having a round tattoo on his forehead and a green alien on the side of his head. An Officer working a foot beat in the area was flagged down regarding the incident. The Officer located the suspect nearby and arrested him without incident. A computer check on the suspect revealed an outstanding warrant out of SF for his arrest, and he was booked for the warrant and attempted robbery.
HOT PROWL BURGLARY

11TH AVE & CALIFORNIA ST
Between 2/14/16-2/15/2016 unknown suspects broke into the victim’s garage and stole three bicycles. The total value of the bikes was over $4000.00. The victim told Officers he was home all night and didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary. No suspect description at this time.
ARREST: THEFT FROM BUILDING/POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

COMMONWEALTH AVE
The victim was at home waiting for a package to be delivered. The victim saw a shadow approach the front door, thinking it was UPS she opened the door. The victim saw packages, onhealthy cymbalta online which she assumed were hers, being carried away by an unknown Latin male suspect. The victim chased after the suspect and yelled at him and he ultimately dropped the packages on the ground. The victim picked up the packages and saw they were addressed to her. The victim immediately called police. Officers arrived on scene and located a suspect matching the description. As soon as the suspect saw police he quickly turned towards someone’s front door, pretending to ring doorbells, avoiding police contact. The victim positively identified the suspect and several other stolen items were located in a black duffel bag the suspect was carrying. The suspect was transported to Richmond Station and was later cited and released.
MENTAL HEALTH DETENTION

16TH AVE & GEARY
Officers responded to 16th and Geary Blvd on reports of an unstable person, possibly high on drugs, running in and out of traffic. Officers searched the area and were flagged down by a citizen who told them “a man sweating real badly was hiding at the top of the stairs of a house on 16th Ave.” Officers located the male who appeared confused and was sweating profusely. The man told Officers he takes several different medications. An ambulance arrived on scene and transported the man to the hospital. Officers placed a medical hold on the man due to the fact he was running in and out of traffic, and using medications/drugs that were altering his reasonable decision making process.
ARREST: DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE

GEARY & 8TH AVE
Officers observed a Honda driving westbound on Geary Blvd at 7th Ave., with a right rear tail light not functioning. Officers initiated a traffic stop and contacted the driver, who was identified by his California Drivers License. A computer check revealed his license was suspended since August of 2015. The vehicle was parked legally at the scene and the driver was cited and released from the scene.
ARREST: DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS/TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

FULTON & FUNSTON AVE
Officers responded to the area of Fulton and Funston regarding a traffic accident. Upon arrival they met with both involved parties. One party indicated to the Officers that the other driver was possibly high on drugs. The Officers spoke with the driver who was suspected of being under the influence. The driver’s speech was slow, eyes bloodshot and he had the smell of marijuana emanating from his person. The driver denied being under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. Based on the circumstances of the collision, objective symptoms of drug intoxication, and performance on field sobriety tests, the male driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.

4649 GEARY BLVD
Officers responded to the Jack in the Box located on Geary Blvd., regarding a person refusing to leave. When Officers arrived they were told by the employee that he asked the male suspect to leave since the male was sleeping on a table. The male suspect refused to leave, became aggressive and spit in the employees face. Officers located the male suspect who crossed his arms and stated he wasn’t going to leave. Officers had to physically assist the male suspect out of the restaurant. The male suspect was cited for trespassing, battery and resisting/delaying and released from the scene.

So last week between 22nd and 25th on Fulton St there were 2 pretty major accidents. Would be good to see those in here.
“suspect was described as having a round tattoo on his forehead and a green alien on the side of his head” – this guy is a regular on the 38 inbound early mornings (like 5:30/5:40 a.m.). Oftentimes looking at adult magazines on the bus while glaring at women. (ew)
it’s not clear from the story if the alien is attached to the side of his head or if the alien is a tattoo? I’m hoping the latter although either way, this makes him easier to spot I guess?
