We got a flyer in the mail this weekend announcing the upcoming opening of a new LiveFitGym location at 403 Arguello. That’s on the second level of the building at the southwest corner of Arguello and Clement, and was the former home of the Shan-Yee Poon School of Performing Arts.
According to their website, the new location is 8,000 square feet and will include cardio equipment, weight machines, fitness classes, personal training, as well as chiropractic, acupuncture and massage services. The gym will also have full showers.
It’s not clear exactly when the Arguello location will open, but the company is offering a $1 sign-up special if you enroll before May 31, 2017. The first month is free and a membership includes access to all 5 of LiveFitGym’s locations in the city (Hayes Valley, Mission, Nob Hill, and Polk Street).
Monthly membership packages for LiveFitGym range from $77 to $187, with add-on treatments like chiropractic adjustment, acupuncture and massage included in the top tier memberships.

I’ve been wondering what was going in to that space. Seems like a decent fit, though there are already a couple fitness places on the ground floor of the building already.
It does not sound like they are offering much more than the YMCA on 18th Ave. “full showers”? I don’t know a gym that doesn’t have that. The price is too expensive for the location unless they have full Olympic weight equipment and tires to flip and a climbing rope and TRX etc. I will grandly take a tour… But I would also like to know what certifications their personal trainers have and how much they charge in addition to the expensive membership.
Looks great! I would love to have a gym in that section of the Richmond and there is nothing currently available. Does anyone know if they provide free weights?
I checked with them and learned that have free weights and they will open at 5 AM. Good news!
The membership is inexpensive. $87 per month for gym + unlimited classes or group training, billed monthly. Or $50 more for a one-hour massage every month.
I have to admit this idea seemed strange at first, but has been growing on me!
These make for great neighborhood gyms. There is never a wait for any cardio machines, and rarely one for the weight machines. It is definitely not a fancy type of place, but is perfect if you are just looking to get in and out after a work out. Looking forward to one opening up in Richmond.
