Video: 2 injured, 30 displaced after late night fire on 23rd Avenue

Two people suffered burns, and an estimated 30 people were displaced last night after a three alarm fire on 23rd Avenue early this morning.

Around 2am on Thursday morning, a fire was reported at 453 23rd Avenue between Geary and Anza. Nearly 100 firefighters responded to the scene, and it took them until 4am to get the fire under control.

Flames erupted from the roof of the two unit building, and when firefighters entered the burning structure, they were confronted by hallways and stairs cluttered by hoarded possessions, according to CBS News.

Three men suffered injuries from the fire, and one has been hospitalized in critical condition due to burns.

Nearly 30 people were displaced from 453 23rd Avenue and adjacent buildings where flames spread to their top floors. In total, three buildings were damaged by the fire. A cat was also rescued from the residence.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
