Did you know there’s a ropes course tucked into the trees at Land’s End? It’s known as the Fort Miley ropes course and this Saturday, they’re inviting the public out to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
Come out from 1pm – 4pm to try out the different challenges in the course including a zip line, a tight line walk across the trees, and another gut wrencher where you climb a tall ladder up to a pole and leap out to hit a target. And don’t worry, there’s plenty of safety harnesses and protection for all the activities.
The open house is geared for all ages, so stop by to face your fears or just to gawk at other brave souls. 😉 I was on the ropes course a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. The pics below are of a school group that was there recently. I encourage you to check it out!
To find the Fort Miley ropes course, head out on Geary towards the beach. It turns into Point Lobos Boulevard and at the light, turn right on El Camino del Mar and go straight up the hill into the parking lot. The ropes course is up the hill from the parking lot, tucked in the trees. See the map below for a closer look.
After the ropes course challenge, the 30th anniversary celebration will continue at the Lincoln Park Golf Course clubhouse from 6pm – 9pm where you can join other ropes course enthusiasts for food, prizes, a DJ, and fun activities. All free!
The Fort Miley ropes course is managed by the Pacific Leadership Institute; more info here.

The red “X” marks the spot where the ropes course is located.
Sarah, I’ve caught a peak of this in the past while driving by. Who operates this? How can it be accessed besides this open house? Is it open to the public? Do they have a website or where can I learn more? Thanks!
Hi Bob,
This was an email included with the announcement: FMROPESCOURSE30th@yahoo.com
Here’s their website as well:
