Behind the scenes with See’s Candy

When on foot, I always approach 9th & Clement with some trepidation. As I get closer to See’s I either have to fight the urge to pick up some of their delicious candy or give into my craving, waistline be damned! I grew up on the stuff and to this day, it’s my go-to candy. My favorite thing is to go in and build a custom box, filled with dark chocolate caramels, mocha anything and truffles. Mmm…

SF Weekly recently stopped by the See’s headquarters in South San Francisco for a private factory tour. As a beloved Richmond District institution, I thought you would enjoy finding out more about what goes into making those heavenly chocolate bits.
