What’s the history behind your home?

Ever wondered when your house or building was built? The Western Neighborhoods Project is putting on an interesting seminar this Wednesday, July 15 called “Who Built your House?”. At the event, architectural historian Richard Brandi will show you how to search city records and other archives to find the builder or architect of your house and when it was built.

I know, going down and searching city records sounds tedious, but the event promises that “Richard will demystify the process and show how you can find the information without too much heartache”. The event will focus on finding information for houses in the western neighborhoods of San Francisco, but the techniques can be used to research homes from any neighborhood.

The event costs $15 and all proceeds go back to the Western Neighborhoods Project. If you attend and dig up some interesting history on your place, let us know!
