Hats off to a newly re-opened business

The Chronicle’s “Native Son” columnist, Carl Nolte, has a nice article in today’s paper about new life being breathed into 90-year old Paul’s Hatworks on Geary Boulevard.

Four twenty-something women purchased the business from owner Michael Harris, closed and cleaned it up a bit, and held a grand reopening party this month.

Nolte tell us “Their business plan is to shake the old-fashioned image of men in hats and bring it up to date, emphasizing the handmade nature and high quality of the hats they sell. They plan to put on events at Paul’s, including an “open studio” in early October, when they intend to introduce their fall line of felt hats.”
