This Sunday at 3pm, the 4 bedroom, 2 bath home at 463 16th Avenue will go up for public auction.
The house was open for viewing last weekend. This Saturday it will be open again from 1-4pm, and then on Sunday from 1-3pm. The live auction then begins at 3pm.
A San Jose group called REI Circle is hosting the live, on-site auction. Their site says that you should pre-register to get a bidding packet though it’s unclear how to do that. Perhaps they’ll be available at the open houses.
The home was built in 1911 and is descibed as “Traditional, onhealthy famvir buy Cape Cod”. Redfin’s listing goes on to say it is a “Central Richmond location, fixer upper with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 3 car garage with additional sunroom, attic & huge area in garage for storage / rooms. Great potential in million dollar neighborhood!”. Its list price is $625,000.
No other pictures are available of the house which makes me wonder how much fixing up this house really needs. I’ve never been to a house auction so I might check this one out. Will there be a bidding war?

Take a look at this address on Google Street View and notice the change in exterior. I wonder if this is all that has been done with the property to increase the curb appeal and the number of potential bidders?
Ah yes! A new paint job can make a world of difference. Definitely an improvement for this house.
I’m very curious to see what this property looks like on the inside.
