Parks meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21

Next week, The Planning Association for the Richmond (PAR) will hold a general meeting which is open to the public; you do not need to be a PAR member to attend.

Up for discussion at this meeting will be our neighborhood parks. The Richmond District is dotted with them, whether they be the size of Golden Gate Park or the smaller, even mini parks like Muriel Leff on 7th Avenue. In an urban environment like San Francisco, every bit of green we have is important.

So, how was Outside Lands for you this year? If you have some feedback about what worked or what didn’t at this summer’s big rock festival, come to the meeting to share your ideas. They’ll also be discussing plans for future events in the park. Nicholas A. Kinsey of the SF Recreation and Park Department will lead this discussion.

The agenda will also include the proposed Beach Chalet Soccer Field Renovation. City Fields Foundation team member Dan Mauer will be there to lead the discussion and take questions. Mauer works in the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department’s Capital Division where he is directly involved in renovating and improving the City’s park system.

Wednesday’s meeting will be at the Richmond Recreation Center, 251 18th Avenue (between California and Clement) from 7-9pm.

UPDATE: Recreation and Park General Manager Phil Ginsburg has confirmed his attendance at the meeting.
