Alexandria meeting Wednesday night; new online petition

Just a quick reminder that this Wednesday night, there is a public meeting about the Alexandria Theater development.

To hear more about the project and the Planning Department’s Mitigated Negative Declaration report, please attend the 6pm meeting at the YMCA, 360 18th Avenue near Geary.

Also, there is a new online petition urging Supervisor Mar to stay on top of the Alexandria development:

As your constituents, we urge you to stay on top of this issue. Ensure that the owners of the Alexandria keep it in secure and good condition as required by law. Facilitate the timely approval of an Alexandria redevelopment project, and prevent the project from getting bogged down in city bureaucracy. Finally, keep us informed of progress made and let us know how we can help by making our voices heard when and where appropriate.

  1. Thanks for posting the update! It’s time to get some answers. One wonders how many projects in the district that Supervisor Mar perhaps is involved in but is not sharing information or seeking voters views.

A good question to ask at this meeting would be what about the other large long vacant site where Albertson’s used to be at 32nd & Clement. What are the plans for that location and why is it also allowed to remain vacant with people camping etc. I understand there are some people in the neighborhood who have seen the plans, how about the rest of us?

I hope this isn’t like the mayor running for another office while letting the city go un-attended.
