The Conservatory of Flowers recently opened a new exhibition called Wicked Plants: Botanical Rogues & Assassins. The unique show, set in a Victorian garden, features over 30 species of wicked plants that look harmless – often even pretty – but have highly poisonous, even fatal, properties.
Next Wednesday night, the Conservatory will stay open late for a 21+ event called “Plants Behind Bars”. Stop by to check out the new exhibition, cruise around the Conservatory’s galleries, and enjoy some appropriately themed hemp ale from Pacific Brew Lab.
Local acoustic / crunk / roots band The Human Condition will also perform live at the event.
I’ve got a pair of passes to give away to the event. To enter for a chance to win, use the contact us form to send in the answer to this trivia question:
Q: Which U.S. President’s mother died from ingesting one of the wicked plants featured in the exhibition?
The winner will be drawn at random from the correct entries that are received by the deadline, which is 5pm on Friday, April 15.
Plants Behind Bars will be held at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park on April 20 from 6pm until 9pm. Admission to the event is $5 per person. Facebook event page
