Starting next Wednesday, the Richmond District branch library will host a free, 6-week series of Healthier Living Workshops.

Developed by Stanford University School of Medicine and hosted by SF Department of Aging and Adult Services, the workshops are designed to help people with chronic conditions like arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems, and other chronic conditions.

Classes can help participants and their caregivers improve the quality of their life. At the workshops, participants will learn how to:

  • Manage pain, stress, and fatigue
  • Be more fit and eat healthier
  • Work more effectively with your doctor and healthcare professionals
  • Set goals and problem solve to make positive changes in your life
  • Feel better and reduce your healthcare costs

The workshops begin on Wednesday, September 24th and take place every Wednesday for the next 6 weeks, until September 28. Every Wednesday’s class runs from 12:45pm until 3pm at the Richmond Branch Library, 351 9th Avenue.

The workshops are coordinated by Ken Wong, who was recently profiled in the Richmond Review.

Pre-registration is required. Call Shelly Glazer at City College of SF at 415-452-5839, or email her at sdglazer@ccsf.edu.
