Police Blotter – October 14, 2011

CAPTAIN KEITH SANFORD’S MESSAGE
On our PCRF meeting this coming Tuesday, 10/18/11, at 7pm we’ll have representatives from MTA, DPH, Rec & Park, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, DPT, Supervisor Mar’s Office, Senator Leland Yee’s Office, the Police Advisory Board-Richmond Station to address business and community concerns. We look forward to discussing the issues of mental health outreach, traffic and crime, as well as community involvement in Golden Gate Park venues.

There has been an increase of vehicle accidents involving automobiles and pedestrians in the past week. Approximately four pedestrian were involved in separate incidents. There were six other injury accidents involving vehicles vs vehicle additionally.

Due to an increase of incidents involving disturbances along the Geary Blvd. and Clement St corridors, we’ve implemented our evening hour bar and club enforcement operation. Numerous clubs and bars were cited for permit violations.

NOTEWORTHY INCIDENTS
Between 10/05, 8:30am and 10/08, 6:30am on the 100 block of Funston, a suspect gained entry into a garage and took 2 bikes. There were no signs of forced entry.

Between 10/06, 8pm and 10/11, 7:30am on the 4500 block of Cabrillo, a suspect gained entry into a garage and took a bicycle. There were no signs of forced entry.

Between 10/06, 10pm and 10/09, 5pm on the 700 block of 11th Ave , a suspect gained entry into an apartment garage by unknown means and took 3 bicycles.

On 10/07 at 5:15pm, the victim was walking in the area of 33rd and Balboa. He was approached from behind by a suspect who told the victim, “Give up your stuff or my friend is going to shoot you.” The first suspect was indicating to a second male who was walking towards them. The suspect then reached into the victim’s pants pockets and took his wallet and I-pod. The suspect fled north on 33rd Ave. The suspect was described as a male, 15-17 years of age, wearing a red beanie, red striped collar shirt and blue jeans.

Between 10/09, 8pm and 10/10, 7:30am on the 300 block of 2nd Av, a suspect gained entry into an apartment garage and took 2 bikes that were inside. The suspect also broke into a vehicle parked in the garage and took gym clothes and an I-pod. There were no signs of forced entry into the garage.

Between 10/10, 11pm and 10/11, 8am on the 800 block of 42nd Ave, a suspect gained entry into a garage by breaking a panel on a tradesman’s entrance and accessing the lock through the broken panel. The suspect took 2 bicycles and a guitar.

On 10/11, between 7am and 5:30pm on the 2000 block of Post St , a suspect gained entry into an apartment and took a camera and cash. The suspects pried open the door.

On 10/12, between 7:30am and 8pm on the 2000 block of Post St , a suspect gained entry into an apartment by prying open the front door. The suspect took jewelry, 2 laptops and a cell phone.

On 10/14, between 11:15am and 11:45am on the 400 block of 32nd Ave , a suspect kicked open the front door of a residence. The suspect took jewelry.

  1. From now on I am putting a lock on my bicycle in the garage. I always wonder who buys all these stolen bicycles.

  2. I’ve begun turning on the house alarm again. I’m wondering where these thieves are coming from? it’ll be very interesting to know.
