A few local links to take you into your holiday weekend day…
- More fun with numbers and street names! Reader Denise J. sent in the above photo of a street name stamp on Lake Street, er, we meant 7ake Street.
- Where the streets have no name… It’s only fitting that red tape is delaying the final phase of getting Middle Drive East in Golden Gate Park officially renamed to Nancy Pelosi Drive. You’d think a former Speaker of the House could bypass that kind of hassle. But the signs are up – same difference, right?
- And then there was 1. Aziza is our only neighborhood restaurant that made the July list of Eater SF’s Essential 38 restaurants.
- Streetsblog takes a more in-depth look at the layout options for the Geary Bus Rapid Transit project.
- Tried Cassava Bakery yet out on Balboa? They published their latest menu this week which includes a coupon for 10% off plus a free cup of coffee in July. Fluffy Garlic Scramble, Toast Points & Jam ($7), Herb Turkey Grilled Cheese + Tomatoes ($7), Shrimp & Avocado Sliders ($10)… Hungry yet?
- Our District 1 Supervisor candidates are busy getting signatures, raising funds, and opening their campaign headquarters. Candidate David Lee has turned in enough signatures to get on the November ballot (avoiding the $500 filing fee), and both he and current District 1 Supervisor Eric Mar have raised enough funds to qualify for public matching funds.
- CurbedSF has a nice map of the best places to watch fireworks from tomorrow night. Of course this is all dependent on Mother Nature cooperating… Stay away fog!
