Photos: Driver tries a fancy exit at the Conservatory of Flowers

car2

Reader Tina V. sent us these, er, interesting pics of a car that tried to take a creative exit at the Conservatory of Flowers.

In the photo, the car is grounded on the stairs that lead down from the Conservatory entrance to the Dahlia Garden below. Why it tried to go down the stairs is unknown.

Especially since there is no way to even drive right up to the Conservatory of Flowers entrance.

The car was eventually towed backwards off the stairs, and there is minor damage to the top stair from where it came into contact with the underside of the car.

Theories, readers?

  1. There indeed is a way to “way to even drive right up to the Conservatory of Flowers entrance.” From Conservatory Drive West, next to the bathrooms on the west side of the Conservatory of Flowers.

  2. One other theory – They were using Google Maps in “walking” instead of “driving” setting 🙂

  3. I hope:

    1) someone gets their license thoroughly re-examined.
    2) the person or the person’s insurance is charged to repair the steps

  4. Maybe the driver thought he was filming a movie car chase . . .

  5. To quote Doc Brown, “Roads!? Where we’re going we don’t need ROADS!!”

  6. I’m with the idiot theory. Surprised it doesn’t happen more often.
