An update on auto burglaries in Golden Gate Park:
The Patrol Bureau Task Force, a specialized plain clothes unit, has been working on decreasing auto break-ins in Golden Gate Park. On 5/10/2016, the Officers made an arrest of three suspects who were breaking into vehicles in the Park, recovering all of the stolen property in their possession. On May 23, 2016 the Officers were again patrolling Golden Gate Park when they saw several men break into a car at JFK and Stow Lake. The Officers observed the men break in and take various items, but ultimately lost sight of the men before they could make an arrest. The Officers were able to get the license plate of the suspect’s vehicle and found the car at the registered owners address in the Bayview District. A search warrant was served and inside that house the Officers located and arrested both suspects and ultimately recovered an I Pad, replica handgun (often used in robberies) and burglary tools (window punch).

Here are some of the incidents that occurred in the Richmond Police District this week:

  1. To Concerned: what are you talking about??? There *are* suspect descriptions for every one where a suspect wasn’t arrested.
To Captain Yep: Keep up the good work. I’ve noticed the extra traffic enforcement, and I thank you! How about doing some pedestrian PSA along Clement St. Things like not walking into an intersection when the walk light is blinking, etc.

  2. The “robbery with force” incident report states quite clearly that the victim could not provide a description.

  3. Very much appreciate the police blotter and the work of Capt. Yep and his team.
The blotter contains suspect descriptions and as Annie pointed out, the “robbery with force” incident indicates the victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect to police.
We’re looking forward to the Sandlot event!
