Photo & video: Rare thunder and lightning roll through the Richmond District

We were surprised with some rare weather in the early evening last night, replete with rolling thunder and bursts lightning for about an hour. Reader Jim M. sent us this pic and video that he took from his window in the outer Richmond.

I happened to be on a walk out at Lands End last night when the weather hit. A very eerie experience!

The pesky lightning caused a brief power outage in parts of the Richmond District as well.
