The Marine Corps band performs at Argonne Playground this Friday at 4pm.
In honor of Fleetweek this weekend, the 1st Marine Division Band will perform a free concert at Argonne Playground (440 19th Ave) this Friday at 4pm.
The band performs annually and last year, many people showed up to hear the lively band perform “amazing and unexpected” songs (like Careless Whisper – check the video below!).
The 1st Marine Division Band, based out of Camp Pendleton, California, consists of 50 Marine musicians that travel the country. Their primary mission is to provide musical support for military parades and ceremonies, performing at over 300 commitments per year. The Band was organized during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations in the early 1940’s.
