The Balboa is also having a Star Trek Contest: “We are asking you to send in as many genre titles set in the SF Bay Area or with major scenes about our home as you can. The person with the most correct titles will get a Balboa 2009 VIP pass for two people. Contest lists must include your name and contact information. They can be hand delivered, mailed or emailed (balboafans@yahoo.com) to the Balboa Theatre. The deadline for entries is May 29, 2009.” Prize: Star Trek poster signed by the film’s Special Effects Supervisor, Roger Guyett.

Hall of Flowers: Vintage Paper Fair
Sunday from 10am to 4pm, 9th Avenue at Lincoln Way. Free admission
Come and check out the many different vintage paper treasures right in your own backyard. This event includes an array of: Postcards, Trade Cards, Stereoviews, Photography, Labels, Brochures, Victorian, Transportation & Sports Memorabilia, as well as interesting pieces of old paper. More info

Lindy in the Park (Sunday, 11am, GGP: JFK Drive between 8th & 10th Ave)
Held every Sunday (weather permitting) in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, LitP is the longest-running swing dance “venue” in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is open to dancers of all ages and levels. There is space to sit, take a breather, chat with friends and strangers, dancers and tourists, and otherwise enjoy the fresh outdoor air. More info
