We’ve been steeped in fog this summer, which means we’re getting close to the annual Richmond District Jog in the Fog 5k, which takes place this year on Sunday, September 9 with an 8am start time in Mountain Lake Park.
Jog in the Fog is a fun, family-friendly 5k run/walk that begins in Mountain Lake Park and ends in the USS SF Memorial Parking Lot at Lands End. Enjoy beautiful views, your Richmond District neighbors, and support the Richmond District YMCA. Last year we raised just over $16,000 for the YMCA’s programs.
Last year was a notable one not just because it was sunny (!!) but because our top finishers were just 16 years old: Jessica Blelloch with a finishing time of 28:19 and Nathaniel Horne with a time of 25:42.
Registration is just $45 for adults and includes a race t-shirt and souvenir race bib. Kids 12 & under race for free so this is a great chance to bring the whole family out for a fun outing. Trophies are awarded for the top male and female runners, as well as for the top boy and girl (12 & under).
And as always, free finish line photos (practice that fist pump and smile!). So what are you waiting for, register today to secure your spot:
In addition to raising money through registrations, the race has many sponsors who pitch in to help put on the race every year and support the Richmond District YMCA. So if you’re in their place of business, please thank them for their support!
We’ll see you on race day!
