Laugh it off this Sunday at Comedy Day

This Sunday, September 20th, Golden Gate Park hosts Comedy Day, five hours of non-stop laughs from thirty professional comedians from top clubs like The Punch Line, Cobb’s Comedy Club, SF Sketchfest, Pepperbelly’s, and Rooster T. Feathers.

Among those scheduled to perform are political comedian and satirist Will Durst and the city’s own Tom Ammiano. See the full list of performers and the day’s schedule.

Comedy Day started in the Golden Gate Park Music Concourse in 1981, moved to the Polo Fields in 1986 to accommodate larger crowds and, for the past few years, has found a home in Sharon Meadow. It was started as a way for local comedians to say thanks to their fans.

Comedy Day takes place on Sharon Meadow (map) from 12noon to 5pm this Sunday. Admission is free, just bring a blanket, snacks and some sunscreen – it’s due to be a scorcher!

The video below is a short clip of Will Durst performing with some funny “W” commentary. Wonder what he’ll bring to the stage on Sunday about today’s White House?
