Mayor Ed Lee to commemorate 9/11 at St. Monica’s Church on Sunday

San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee has a busy schedule on Sunday, criss-crossing the city to attend a series of events to commemorate 9/11.

At 10am on Sunday, he’ll be stopping by St. Monica’s Church to observe a moment of silence during the Annual Police and Fire Memorial Mass, which commemorates the 10th Anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks. Father Green, SFFD Chaplain will preside.

“The attacks on 9/11 represent a great tragedy, and although we were 3,000 miles away, the loss is certainly felt in our City. It is important to me and to the people of San Francisco that we honor the fallen including San Francisco heroes Betty Ong, Mark Bingham and all others who died that day, and take time to reflect on what that day means for all of us,” said Mayor Lee.

St. Monica’s Church is located at 24th Avenue and Geary Boulevard.
